Working in the African Bush is one of the greatest
pleasures one can experience. Motivation and passion in my world come
from capturing unique and only unique moments that nature itself
provides. All one needs to do is take opportunity of it. From the
liveliness and freshness of the new born mornings to the tranquility,
and intense colors of the setting suns, wild Africa is a beauty beyond
description.
My name is David Guest, working as a professional field guide in the Madikwe Game Reserve in South Africa. My job to the public is to expose
them to the naturalness of the African bush, to enthrall them about the
intricacies between all things big and small. But more importantly to
create memories that will never be forgotten. Africa has a way of
creating the perfect memories, memories we all want to have. Seeing how
much this means to people, I have created this Wild Picture Africa for that very
reason.
My passion in capturing these special memories is portrayed through the
imagery that Africa provides me with. My out look on wildlife
photography isn't about just taking a picture, it's so much more. It's
about telling a story, a story that burns Africa's soul into
your mind and heart. That's what wildlife photography is all about. A
picture perfect memory! For those of you who have experienced it, you
know what I mean.
For those of you who still dream of Africa...Welcome! Explore the
website as if you're exploring Africa, this will help you realize that
your wildest African dreams can come true!

Working with Canon equipment, is what makes photography fun. Friendly to
use yet rugged enough to withstand all elements of the bush, this make
is by far a friend.
With wildlife photography, all that is really needed is a 300mm lens.
There is no other reason for these massive lenses, just a bit of
creativity will make up for the loss of a big lens.
Currently all my pictures are being taken with a Canon EOS 400 along
with either my Canon 75 - 300mm image stabilizer lens or the standard 18
- 55mm wide angle lens. In addition I utilize a 170-500mm lens.
